History
The small palace, called Villa Beatriz, was built by Francisco Antunes Guimarães, in honor of his wife Beatriz, in the late XIX century.
Nowadays it is qualified by IGESPAR, a government agency, as a cultural heritage monument.
WINES
Quinta Villa Beatriz production confines, exclusively to its crops, which has about 10,5 ha of vineyards.
It is produced with the varieties of grapes characteristic of this region, combined with the “terroir” of Vale do Ave region, and the fresh and rainy weather combined with the Atlantic breeze, making it possible.
The denomination ” Vinho de Quinta” – farmer’s wine, demands rigid norms of selection that one should never forget. Drinking a “farmer’s wine”, is like tasting a masterpiece which production is stricktly confined to one specific farm’s crops. Hence, the reduced offer of such wines!
There are two distinct trade marks – “Quinta Villa Beatriz” and “Terras de Lanhoso” – with the Villa Beatriz as the superior wine with the harvest year identification. Both young wines that combine perfectly with seafood and fish dishes, including sushi.
